Miss Runner: Can you tell us about your training routine?
Saika Ono: My training routine is quite standard yet it varies each time I hit the gym. I usually focus on shaping up for the whole body, especially my legs and abs as they are my weak areas but that does not mean i neglect upper body. I usually train with somebody as well, which allows me to change things up as well as learn new training routines.
MR: We see that you do a lot of different sports, which do you think gives the fastest results?
SO: I think rather than rushing to get the fastest results, sports that relax the mind and at the same time working different parts of the muscles are more effective. The only real other sport, which I play is golf. Golf is really relaxed and it allows me to work on my core muscles. It really does not affect shaping up my body but it is nice to change things up once in a while.
SO: The key to keeping a slender body is balance. To be honest, I am not as strict in terms of training as one would think. I do not just workout non stop 24/7. I love to go out and drink and indulge myself in delicious food. Having a balanced lifestyle and not overdoing it is really important in my opinion. Being happy and keeping a balance mentally is also the key.
MR: You seem to be travelling a lot, which you might not be able to hit the gym regularly. What do you normally do to stay fit during your trip?
SO: Yes, I love to travel therefore finding somewhere to gym is extremely difficult. I try to find a hotel with a gym if I can but if I can't, it does not really bother me. Travelling for me is a time to forget about the real life and become absorbed in the outside world and its unique culture. But I would work harder afterwards to make up the time I did not work out during my trip.
