Holistic wellness is a form of healing that takes into account all of you -- Everything and everyone is connected so, holistic wellness looks at the body, mind, spirit and emotions. We are what we think, what we eat, who we spend time with, what we do and don’t do, what we embody. When all is in balance and in harmony we are then able to vibrate higher.
So how does holistic wellness work exactly?
1. Stress - Environmental Stress
Let's take stress -- environmental stress from lets say, living in a polluted city. I’ve lived in Beijing, China for 3+ years and the pollution affected me in so many ways - not only in my physical wellness but also had a ripple effect on my emotional wellness and spiritual wellness. Hong Kong has its moments too and as a Holistic Coach, I can support you with the tools for prevention. Some things to add to your tool like would be 1) by adding air purifying plants in your home and office 2) A salt lamp to some of the rooms, 3) look into what kind of water you are drinking and if you are even hydrating enough.
2. Eating Habits - Binge Eating
What different ways can we support someone with this pattern? I would look at the physical challenges that would occur, such as digestive problems. Then look into that person’s lifestyle and their emotional rhythms - investigate on a deeper level why they are reaching for food to comfort, potentially numb and satiate. Spiritual wellness is key in the work that I do with clients, that’s why a meditation practice is core pillar and often I will use essential oils to support the healing.
"Movement is the most important healing element for me"
Movement -- this is the most important healing element for me. It is a form of expression and release. Regular physical activity is essential to improve our current and future level of our health. Even if we stretch for 15-mins in the morning - the movement of our spine, which is the center of our nervous system sends vibes out to every part of our body. Good spinal mobility is so important! Our joints, muscles and organs, everything in our bodies, requires nerve supply for normal function. Movement increases heart rate and strengthens our system. Our bodies are designed to self heal and maintain itself at its best level -- so let us support ourselves in this process as best as we can!
